I, like many others, wanted to start and grow a successful Supplement brand 12 years ago.
Early on I was very excited to get started but the enthusiasm I had soon started to wear off as I learned just how expensive and time consuming it was to create a Supplement brand.
After getting quotes from multiple manufacturers I learned that these were the key things I’d have to invest in all before selling a single product:
-Upfront inventory purchases or MOQ’s (Minimum order quantities) of 1,000 units on regular Supplements and up to 10,000 units on NSF Certified Supplements. And this was on just 1 sku! TOTAL INVESTMENT FOR 10 PRODUCTS: $25,000.00 - $400,000.00
-Then I had to pay to ship my products to a 3rd party labeling company to have them print/apply all my labels. TOTAL INVESTMENT FOR LABEL PRINTING + APPLICATION + SHIPPING: $5,000.00 - $25,000.00
-Next I had to pay to ship my products to a 3rd party fulfillment company that would warehouse & fulfill all my Supplements for me. They charged warehousing storage fees by the pallet per month, pick & pack fees as orders were placed, packaging fees & a fulfillment fee .
TOTAL INVESTMENT FOR WAREHOUSING + FULFILLMENT: $20,000.00 - $200,000.00
